Demolished in the 1930s to make way for the construction of the present Sebastian County Courthouse at the same site bounded by the streets of Rogers, Parker, Sixth and Seventh, the ornate clock tower shown here was replaced in the early 1900s by a plainer, shorter square tower. Two factors, inferior materials and a very heavy bell that vibrated the structure, threatened to shake it apart.
