In the 1940s, the Fenolio Hotel still stood, left, at the west end of Garrison Avenue on the north side of the street. Crowned with a globe, a post stands, extreme left, marking the entrance to that bridge. The West End Liquor store with "Arkansas' Best Complete Stock of Liquors" also did business at the end of the avenue.
