What was reported to be the first carload of local wheat ever shipped by train from Fort Smith to Fort Worth by the Fort Smith Roller Mills Co. on Aug. 13, 1915. The crop was a result of a conscious effort to replace cotton with other food commodities in the local market. | |||||||||||||||||
