Bill Jeffrey Memorial Boys' Club was dedicated June 2, 1957, at North 50th Street and Kinkead Avenue in Fort Smith. Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Jeffrey and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley E. Evans gave the $50,000 building to the Boys club and the community as a memorial to the Jeffrey's son, Bill Jeffrey was killed in a motor accident in 1955. The Sebastian County land was donated under the leadership of Judge Ben Geren. Clarence Higgins, Boys Club director, said in 1957 that in conjunction with the operation of the club at 215 Wheeler Avenue the two would provide room for 500 boys.
